Module 1
Upholstery Foundation Level One
Classes 1 to 13 – Start here and learn some of the most important traditional and modern upholstery techniques. You will learn how to upholster traditional & modern drop in seats; rectangular & oval pull over seats; rectangular & oval capped on seats; & how to use serpentine springs.
Upholstery Foundation Level Two
Classes 14 to 21 – Learn some more advanced traditional and modern upholstery techniques, including traditional stuffing and stitching. You will learn how to upholster a footstool using traditional techniques and also modern techniques.
Upholstery Foundation Level Three
Classes 22 to 30 – Learn how to make a deep-buttoned headboard. From making the frame to deep buttoning to hanging the headboard on your wall, it is all included in this course.
Module 2
Upholstery Foundation Level Four
Classes 31 to 54 – Learn how to traditionally upholster a dining chair with a sprung seat. From stripping down the chair to tying in the springs to applying the final fabric and braid, this course takes you through the whole process step by step.
Upholstery Foundation Level Five
Classes 55 to 80 – Starting with just the wooden panels, learn how to make an ottoman box that is lined on the inside and outside. When you finish this set of classes you will have a professionally finished ottoman box that is ready to use.
Vintage Module
Make Your Own Chaise Longue
In these 26 classes you will learn how to make your own chaise longue using a range of traditional and modern upholstery techniques. This module takes you through the whole process of making a chaise longue step by step, starting with just the wooden frame.
